Allowing dream to come alive

Every moment is a gift, when we stay open to what is appearing now.

I was procrastinating for a long long time about posting my first blog.
This is especially after reading and seeing other blogs, which makes me goes “wow, oh my!!” on all the posts, pictures and presentations, etc. Impressive! Hm... getting a cold feet..

Then again, I have made a declaration aloud to post a note by end of this week. So here it is…

I have just come back from a short trip to Krabi over the weekend, with my Sister and Mum. I was committed to create fun, excitement, love and care for my Sis and Mum and also to reach out and connect to people that I met on the trip.

It was a step forward as I was usually the “reserved and quiet”, ie “boring person” who will usually be observing others and staying close to the people that I know. So it was a very refreshing change indeed, taking a step out of my comfort zone and connecting to people.

When we arrived at Krabi Airport, we were greeted and picked up by a Thai man, from resort. He was quiet initially when we first got into the car, after helping us with the luggage. So I started a conversation, chatting with him about the sights or places where we can visit, with my Mum and Sis joining in. I asked for his name, wanting to know him personally. The journey itself took us about 40 mins. Within this time, we have built up a friendly and interpersonal relationship with him, even with a slight language barrier. Non was very friendly. Fuelled by our interests, he was very enthusiastic about Krabi, sharing with us what he knows. So much so that he can turned around to smile and talk to us! (PS, he is driving..!) We have also learnt about him, his family, how long he has been with the resort, etc.

It was very warm and enjoyable ride… Not because the temperature was high in Krabi, but our hearts were warm and there were laughter along the trip. My intention initially was to get connected to him and in return for my entire stay, I was humbled by the experience of being with him. Here we are at times, lamenting about aspects of our jobs, which seems less than perfect. For Non, he was the designated driver for the resort, picking guests to and fro airport and various pick-up point at Ao Nang. It was a rather “monotonous” job and yet he was very happy, responsible and enthusiastic about it. At times where we happen to see him, he was always grinning or waving to us happily when he was driving a tuk-tuk, etc. (Ahem, please be careful!)

I realize and do remember that it is appreciating and treasuring what we have in life that makes us happy. Not having what we want or more, that bring happiness.
